[BIKE CHECK] Russell Brindley's CRUST Evasion

CRUST Bikes' bikes are popular with a wide range of people, from hardcore tourists and bike travelers to bike messengers, BMX riders and surfers.

Matt, the representative of CRUST Bikes, is originally from Australia, but he became so passionate about BMX that he moved from Australia to Austin, Texas, USA, which is known as the mecca of BMX.

I am still good friends with the BMX riders of Terrible One (T-1) that I met in Austin, and I even sell T-1 BMX frames on the CRUST Bikes website in the US.

Russell Brindley, whose bike we'll be checking out this time, is also a T-1 team rider and is naturally an amazing BMX rider, with a style that shows off a floating feel on dirt and in the park.

He also rides the same CRUST Bikes [Evasion] as Hanson Little, whose bike we previously checked out . Hanson Little stripped the paint off the frame and is riding an unpainted Evasion, while Russell painted it dark gray himself. They are BMX riders who build their own dirt courses, and their DIY spirit is also evident in their bicycles.

The parts used on the bike are from SRAM, TRP, Thomson, and Brooks, and are a sturdy setup that is somewhat reminiscent of BMX. The 650B x 2.8" tires and wide range gears are essential for riding on unpaved roads and single tracks. The pedals are flat pedals from a BMX manufacturer. The handlebars and stem are from CRUST Bikes.

The bag that fits perfectly in the front basket is a REALM Dark Label bag made by T-1 teammate Hanson Little . The simple and sturdy construction is unique to BMX riders.

I can imagine using this bike for a wide range of purposes, from quick shopping trips to adventure rides and touring. There are other bicycles that can do anything, but CRUST Bikes bicycles never lose their sense of adventure, even when used for everyday use.
