It's been a little over three years since the bicycle manufacturer CRUST Bike was founded. CRUST Bike was born before the terms gravel bike and dirt touring were widely adopted by cyclists.

The CEO, Matt, is a former BMX rider, travel enthusiast, and core surfer. (The cheerful man in the picture above is Matt.) He loves traveling by bicycle and surfing in the ocean, so he decided to load his surfboard onto his bike and go on a trip. He tied a large longboard to a carrier, towed it on his bike and rode through forests and mountain paths to surf spots. He became fascinated with dirt touring and decided to start CRUST Bike. To put it simply, the keywords behind the founding of the manufacturer CRUST Bike are surfing and dirt touring.

[ Evasion ] The palm tree depicted in the frame logo is a testament to the surfer's mindset. CRUST Bike's first frame, the Evasion, is designed to be comfortable and nimble to ride even when heavily loaded with luggage through forests, forest roads, and mountain trails, and despite the traditional design of the head patch and front fork shoulders, it is so sturdy that it won't break even when handled by tough guys like professional wrestlers.
The MTB-like head and seat tube angles and fork offset provide quick handling even on rough roads, while the longer head tube and seat tubes put the rider in a comfortable position. Compatible tire sizes are 26+(26x2.8″~3″) and 650Bx2.5″. Depending on the rider's height, where they are riding, and how they are used, various wheel diameters and tire widths are available, and even single speed and Rohloff internal hubs can be used.
Various racks (cargo racks) can be attached to the front and rear, and mudguards and dynamo lights can also be installed smartly. The ideal "all-carrying" bicycle, which has been difficult to achieve with existing bicycles, may be possible with [Evasion].
The Evasion is the perfect bike for dirt touring. It offers excellent performance not only on dirt but also on paved roads, making it a versatile model that can be used for commuting on weekdays and for touring on weekends.

This is true for other CRUST Bike models as well, but while each frame is best suited to certain uses, they can be used in any way. In other words , you can use the Lightning Bolt , which is designed for paved roads, on unpaved roads, and there's no problem using the Evasion mainly on paved roads. CRUST Bike's bicycles do not limit how they can be used, breaking down the boundaries between everyday rides and extraordinary rides on the weekends, further expanding the field in which you can ride.
Once you get your hands on it, you'll be so excited to fantasize about how you can customize it and where you can take it. The [Evasion] frame is on display at NoR SToLY in Hachioji, Tokyo. Please take a look.
